Privacy Check Application — Privacy Policy

Privacy Check helps you understand the permissions associated with applications on your Android device. This policy explains how the app processes scan information, Premium subscription verification, and support communications. Some features may remain unavailable during testing.

1. Information used for privacy scans

When you choose to scan, Privacy Check accesses information about applications Android makes visible to it, including:

• Application names, package identifiers, and icons.

• Installation type.

• Requested permissions and reported permission-grant states.

This information is processed on your device to provide permission-exposure scores, application descriptions, and recommendations.

Privacy Check does not read your messages, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, camera content, or actual location. It reviews permission information about other applications.

2. Scan information stays on your device

Scan information and results are held temporarily in working memory. Privacy Check does not upload scan inventories or results to ArkTech or include them in billing-verification requests.

The app does not save scan history to an account or database. Leaving the scan flow discards its results, and Android clears working memory when the app process ends.

Privacy Check does not sell scan information or use it for advertising. The current app does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or a remote crash-reporting SDK.

3. Premium subscriptions and Google Play

When you choose to check pricing, Privacy Check connects to Google Play to obtain subscription information.

When purchasing is available, Google Play handles checkout, payment processing, and subscription management. ArkTech does not receive your full payment-card details. Google processes payment and account information under its own privacy policies and terms.

To verify or restore Premium access, Privacy Check sends the following to ArkTech’s verification service hosted on Google Cloud:

• A Google Play purchase token identifying the subscription transaction.

• A Play Integrity token used to validate the request.

The service checks subscription information with Google Play, including the purchased product, subscription status, expiration, and purchase acknowledgement. It uses that information to determine Premium eligibility and acknowledge qualifying purchases.

These requests do not include your installed-app inventory or privacy-scan results.

4. App and device integrity checks

Privacy Check uses Google Play Integrity to help protect subscription verification against tampered applications and abusive requests.

Google processes information needed to provide integrity checks. ArkTech’s verification service receives verdicts concerning app licensing, application recognition, and device integrity, together with information used to validate the request.

These checks support purchase verification; they are separate from the local privacy scan.

5. Cloud processing and retention

The verification service processes purchase and integrity tokens temporarily in memory. Its application code does not intentionally save these tokens, request bodies, or subscription records to a database or application logs.

Google Cloud infrastructure may record connection and operational metadata, such as IP address, request time, request path, response status, and user agent.

In ArkTech’s Google Cloud project:

• Logs stored in the default logging bucket have a 30-day retention period.

• Required administrative and security audit logs stored in the required logging bucket have a 400-day retention period.

The required audit-log category is separate from ordinary purchase-verification request logs. Google may process and retain additional information under its own policies and service terms.

6. Accounts and development previews

The current app does not create an ArkTech user account.

Some development builds may include an optional profile preview with name, email, and telephone fields. Those preview entries are held temporarily in memory and discarded when the form is left. The preview does not authenticate you or send a support request.

A Premium preview does not itself create a paid subscription. An actual purchase requires completion of Google Play’s checkout.

7. External links and support

Application descriptions are bundled with the app for offline use. Opening a source link, the published privacy policy, or the support website takes you to an external service. That service may receive ordinary browser connection information and any information you choose to submit.

If you contact ArkTech, we receive the information you provide, such as contact details and the contents of your request. Scan results are not automatically attached. Please avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.

Calling support opens your device’s dialer; you decide whether to place the call. External websites and services have their own privacy practices.

8. Your choices

You can choose whether to scan, check subscription pricing, purchase Premium, open external links, or contact support.

You control other applications’ permissions through Android Settings. Privacy Check provides guidance and shortcuts; it does not automatically revoke another application’s permissions.

You can manage or cancel a subscription through Google Play. Cancellation stops future renewals; access generally continues until the paid period ends, subject to payment status, refunds, or revocation. Uninstalling Privacy Check does not cancel a Google Play subscription.

You may contact ArkTech with privacy questions or requests concerning information you have provided to us. Google controls information held in your Google account and payment systems; requests concerning that information should also be directed to Google.

9. Understanding scan results

Privacy scores are provisional estimates of permission exposure. They are not a probability of harm, proof that an application is tracking you, or a malware diagnosis.

Android may limit application visibility and permission information. Unknown permission states may remain unrated. Application descriptions explain intended purpose and do not verify actual behavior.

The scan does not inspect recent application activity, browser history, special-access settings, or account advertising preferences. Consider an application’s purpose before changing permissions, especially for emergency and essential device functions.

10. Security

The purchase-verification connection uses HTTPS. The verification service checks Google Play subscription information and integrity verdicts before granting access. Service-account credentials are not embedded in the Android application.

No method of transmission or processing is completely secure.

11. Policy updates

We may revise this policy when app features or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the published policy and relevant in-app disclosures.
